Tilting Disc Check Valves have a disc inside them which can be tilted around the axis. This allows for greater mechanical possibilities than the ordinary disc gate valves. The standard of the valves varies such as ANSI 125, ANSI 150 and ANSI 250. The flanged tilting disc check valves have flanged ends which could be connected with flanges or flanged pipe endings. This allows for less leak in the face to face connection with the pipelines. The materials can be high alloy steels, duplex steel, austenitic stainless steel, ferritic, martensitic, carbon steel or ductile iron. The tilting disc check valve with hydraulic damper is made op of high pressure capable material. The disc can be of a different material than the outer body. The valve disc is intended to be opened and closed as quickly as possible so the differential pressure has to be handled. The difference between the upstream pressure and downstream pressure has to be large for the valves to completely shut off. The smaller differential pressures occurring in low pressure applications are managed by having an elastomeric seal inside the body of the valve.
