CF8M Stainless Steel Hydraulic Gate Valves Supplier, Buy High Temperature Reduced Bore Gate Valve

Gate valve is a type of installation device used in pipe systems to control to the flow of liquids through them. The gate vales have gates that open and close inside a closed body connected to the pipeline. The Parallel Gate Valves have parallelly connected gate. The gate face gives the designation of the valves such as parallel gate valve or the Wedge-shaped Gate Valves. The wedge shaped gate valves are more common in operation. The material of the gate valve can differ from ferritic iron to austenitic, duplex and alloy steel material. Carbon steel and mild steel material are also used in the production of the gate valves. The gate can be made of different material types as well.

The Metal Seated Gate Valve has metal piece as the gate. This gate resides inside a body of the valve and is moved into the pipe and out of the pipe by a connected thread that is operated by a handle. There are different types of valve stems that hold the thread and handle. The rising stem valve is one of the most commonly used valves. The Metal Seated Knife Gate Valve is a different type of gate valve. Here the gate is a knife. There are operations which involve plastic solutions and high viscosity liquids. These liquids can be hard to stop with ordinary piece of metal. So the gates are designed as knives to cut through these high viscosity fluids so that the flow can be easily controlled.

Standards of Parallel Gate Valves

  • API 600: cast carbon and alloy valves
  • API 603: stainless steel valves
  • API 602/BS 5352: forged valves
  • API 6D: slab and through conduit valves for pipelines
  • ASME ANSI B16.34: pressure ratings
  • ASME ANSI B16.10: face to face dimensions
  • ASME ANSI B16.5: flanged ends
  • ASME ANSI B16.25: butt weld ends
  • ASME ANSI B16.47: flanged ends for bore sizes above 24 inches

Difference Between Gate valve & Ball Valve

  • Gate valves belong to the family of “on-off” valves, ball valves to the family of “quarter-turn” valves
  • Ball valves feature very tight seals and are way less prone to leaks than gate valves
  • Ball valves have a longer life cycle and a lower failure rate than gate valves
  • Ball valves are easier to use than gate valves but tend to be more expensive

Advantages of Gate valve

  • Easy to maintain and disassemble
  • Optimal as a shut off valve
  • Bidirectional
  • Low cost
  • Can be used with slurries and viscous liquids
  • Available in large sizes
  • Inherently fire-safe (when used with a metal sheet)

Disadvantages of Gate valve

  • Slow open and close time
  • Low-pressure limitations
  • Erosion of the seat and disk can occur
  • Poor throttling characteristics
  • Difficult to repair
