Flush Bottom Tank Valves are mostly used to flush out semi solid material out of the system. The valve can be fitted at the entrance of a tank or at the exit of the tank. Depending on the purpose, the valve type varies as well. The Sanitary Flush Bottom Tank Valve can have a disc opening into the tank or the disk opening into the valve. When the tanks is a slurry collection tank, the disc opens into the tank. When the valve is releasing material from the tank, the disc opens into the valve. The Flush Bottom Tank Ball Valve uses a ball instead of a disc inside the valve body to control the flow. The valve design is complicated with valve seat mostly made up of PTFE, spindle, valve body, chevron packaging, gland pusher, bonnet assembly and hand wheel.

The valve body could be made up of different types of materials ranging from cast iron to high alloy material. The Flush Type Tank Bottom Valve differs in size, dimensions, material grade and pressure capacities based on the application requirements. High corrosive applications such as chemical applications require highly corrosion resistant material. Low corrosive, low temperature, low pressure systems such as waste water management systems can use ordinary steel material. There are different shapes of the valves such as the Y Type Flush Bottom Valve which could be used for different application purposes. The general purpose of these valves is to flush the system of unwanted residues.
