Resilient Gate Valve is a type of gate valve used to control the flow of liquids, gases and powdered material through pipelines. The Resilient Seated Gate Valves have a plain bottom so that the particles such as pebbles and sand particles can freely pass through the gate. This allows for impurities to be passed through the gate and the rubber surface around it to close. The resilient gate valves were used in place of wedged valves. The wedge valve can control the flow but the Resilient Wedge Gate Valves allow for impurity removal in pharmaceutical, chemical and food processing industrial applications. There are gate valves with by pass systems as well. The by pass of the gate valves allows for the differential pressure in the pipes to be balanced.

The stagnation of material is avoided by closing the main Resilient Seal Gate Valve and opening the by pass system. This allows for continuous flow of the material through the pipeline. The resilient gate valve also allows for delayed filling of pipelines. There are different material grades used from 304, 316 to duplex and alloy steel material. But the most commonly used is ductile iron. The capacity of the valves varies as well. There are valves ranging from 2 inches to 24 inches and custom sizes available as well. The Flowmaster Resilient Wedge Gate Valve can have different types of gates and different materials used. The DN50 through DN1200 is the common range of the gate valves with pressures of PN10 and PN16.
