Super Duplex Steel Valves are a category of duplex steel made valves. The duplex group has standard duplex, super duplex and lean duplex grades of materials. The chemical composition and production mechanisms make the steel to have ferritic and austenitic phases in its metallurgic microstructure. So the material is strong, corrosion resistant and long lasting. The super duplex stainless steel gate valves are one type of valves made up of this steel. The gate valve uses a handwheel, a threaded stem extending from the handwheel to the gate inside the body, the gate and the body. The gate could be made up any material different than the body as well. The gate blocks and opens the passage and regulates the flow. The super duplex stainless steel butterfly valves are also gate valves but the gates are in different shape.

The butterfly gate is a disc connected to a central axis and can open and close the valve turning the wheel. The super duplex ball valves are corrosion resistant to very high extents and they can be used in chemical, food processing, pharmaceutical and other industrial applications.

There are different grades of super duplex materials and they are used in different types of applications. The dimensions and pressure capacities of the super duplex butterfly valves range differently with the standards. There are valves that range in pressure ratings from 150lbs to 2500lbs with the nominal sizes ranging from ½ inches to 48 inches. However, custom made valves with higher sizes are also available.
