Globe valves are made with a globe like structure that has a plug inside it to open and close the circulation. The globe valves are different from the ball valves. The ball valves have balls that turn around to open and close the system while the Globe Control Valves have a plug that descents into the opening in the metal structure inside the body. There are different parts to the valve and they are made up of different materials and of different sizes. The Api 623 Globe Valves can come with metal ring joint, spiral wound gasket with filler and corrugated metal with graphite facings for the gasket part of it. The API 623 valves are usually larger diameter valves used in high fluid flow systems.
