Lift Check Valves are used in suction lines. They avoid the lines running empty. This avoids the need to prime the pumps prior to restarting the operation. These valves can be positioned in any different mounting position in the pipeline as well. There are different material made valves such as the bronze lift check valves. The valves avoid reverse flow in the pipe line as well. The valve I opened by the pressure of the fluid inside the pipeline. Once the flow has stopped, the pressure drops and the valve closes avoiding backflow. There are different types of valves such as the horizontal lift check valves, ball lift check valves and the piston lift check valves.

They are used in different application requirements. They also can be horizontal, angled or vertical in positioning. However the deflection of flow is high in these ball lift check valve types compared to the swing check valves and the head losses are higher. The valves are made in different material grades such as stainless steel, duplex steel, brass and high alloy materials. The different materials are needed for the different types of liquids flowing through the valves. The piston lift check valves come in different sizes and dimensions ranging from ½ inches to 48 inches in input output sizes and the pressure capacities vary from class 150 through class 2500.
