PTFE Strainer is a type of strainer that is coated with ptfe coating. PTFE is a synthetic polymer material that avoids corrosion, wear and tear on the interior of the valve body. It also protects the valve parts from getting damaged by the conditions and the material inside the valve. The ptfe y-strainer is one type of the strainers. The strainers can either be y type or bucket type. The y type strainer has a y shaped body where the bottom part of the y shape collects the materials. The strainer has a filtering system inside the body and it filters the solid materials to stay inside the ptfe lined y strainer while allowing the fluid to flow continuously.

There is also the bucket strainer which has the filtered material collected inside a bucket which is attached with the body of the strainer. The bucket strainers can be operated with low pressure, low velocity liquid flows. The PFA Strainer is made up of different material grades and is coated with the PFA material.

 

The materials used can be ductile iron, stainless steel, cast iron, carbon steel or even higher alloys based on the applications and the materials flowing through the strainers. The pfa lined strainer can come in sizes ranging from ½ inches to 48 inches and above. The pressure capacities range generally from 150lbs to 2500lbs.
