Nickel Alloy Valves have high amounts of nickel. Nickel, as a corrosion resistant element, provides the material with high corrosion resistance; especially against acids. So the nickel alloy valves are used in chemical and petrochemical industries much. The nickel plated ball valves replace the nickel alloy valves in some cases as they offer similar protection against corrosion. But the mechanical properties of the nickel plated valves and nickel alloy made valves are different. The ball valves use a ball to control the flow while there are other valves with gates and plugs to control. There are different types of nickel alloys based on their nickel content. The Nickel 200 Valves are made up of a commercially pure nickel that contains over 99.5% nickel in the composition.
Nickel Alloy Ball Valves
Ni 200 Globe Valve
Nickel 201 Gate Valve
This type of pure nickel component is only used in special cases and when absolutely necessary as the cost of the pure nickel far exceeds the cost of ordinary stainless steel. The Nickel 201 butterfly valves are use in the acid production, chemical and other caustic solutions in the applications.
The butterfly valve is a gate valve with a butterfly shaped gate. The valve sizes and pressure capacities vary according to the standards and the strength of the valves also varies with the nickel alloy being used. There are Nickel 200 gate valves ranging from 2 inches 24 inches and pressure capacities varying up to 2500lbs.
