70/30 Copper Nickel Valves are made in different sizes and pressure ratings to fit with different application types. The sizes of the valves range from 1/8 inches to 16 inches. The valves are made up of a material that has 70% copper and 30% nickel in the composition. The material is strong and corrosion resistant to most corrosive media. There are different types and functions to these valves. The 70/30 Copper Nickel Butterfly Valves are one type of the gate valves which use a gate to control the flow of liquids. The butterfly valves have the gates in the shape of a butterfly with a central axis and the disc fitted to it. The axis is connected to the stem which is connected to the handle outside to control the opening and closing of the valve.

The Cupro Nickel 70/30 Diaphragm Valves use diaphragms for precise control of the flow. These valves are pressure sensitive. They can operate and high and low pressure conditions. The Cu-Ni 70/30 Relief and safety Valves are of a different functional type.
These are automated valves and operate by the pressure threshold. Once the pressure reaches the threshold the relief valves open proportionally to the pressure inside the system. The safety valve opens fully and only when the pressure has risen above the threshold and it closes if the pressure is slow. There are also UNS C71500 Swing Check Valves and other types of valves made in this grade of material.
